Divvy

Divvy enables you to manage the windows on your screen faster and easier. With a simple hotkey or mouse gesture, you can resize and reposition any open window. The application can save you from the hassle of organizing a large number of windows, which can be extremely useful when working on a complex project. What's more, windows can be placed in specific positions with pin-point accuracy.

The application has a compact user interface, which you can bring up with a shortcut key or by clicking its icon on the menu bar. The interface presents a gird on which you must draw a rectangle, by clicking and dragging, while a window is active. You can think of the grid as a representation of your screen. Clicking and dragging over two or more cells will resize and reposition the currently active window to the corresponding area of the desktop.

A tabbed settings menu can be accessed on the same user interface. Besides a few simple options, for making the application start automatically, defining a global hotkey or others, you can also increase or decrease the number of grids on the main window. Furthermore, the application allows you to set up keyboard shortcuts for custom window sizes and positions. The keyboard shortcuts can be made global, which enables you to resize any window at a moment's notice, without bringing up the application's user interface.
